About This Special Issue
Despite its potential, empirical evidence of the educational effectiveness of Game-based Learning (GBL) for Islamic education is still limited. To this respect, the research on the game-based learning practice is needed. It is to known that it is important to understand the teaching practices used in game-based learning, and its importance in the primary school teaching process. On the other hand, the effectiveness of game-based learning in academic achievement and motivation also needed to be explore thoroughly. Thus, the aim of this paper was to provide important insights about the specific educational benefits that can be obtained through GBL in primary school practices. The results can be good for educators, instructional and game designers and researchers from implementation, design and research perspectives, respectively.
